- Abstract
Although HRSDC and CIC have the authority to conduct employer compliance reviews, there are currently significant limitations. For example, HRSDC and CIC can only verify the compliance of employers at the time of an LMO request or a work permit application.
These proposed amendments to the IRPR have two main inter-related objectives:
1. Protect the integrity of the Canadian labour market by providing enhanced authority to verify employer compliance with TFWP requirements (such as efforts to hire Canadians) and to apply consequences for non-compliance; and
2. Protect TFWs from abuse, exploitation and human trafficking.- Issuing organization
