ALBERTA - The Province’s controversial Temporary Foreign Workers Program is currently under review and in need of reform, but while some of the problems are being worked out, a one of a kind support organization has stepped up to serve the needs of immigrants.

The Temporary Foreign Workers Association of Canada provides help for both immigrant workers and their employers. They take care of the complicated paperwork process as well as help match out-of-work foreigners to companies that want to hire them.

There is no cost for the service and in the last 4 months since they opened they have already helped 6,000 workers.

They say they've discovered a niche from the fallout of the TFW program that wasn't being filled.

“We're in Canada! We don't have slavery, yet it's happening in our country. We look at them and see the evidence but nobody is helping and they have nowhere to go,” says Melissa Holman, Temporary Foreign Workers Association.

The organisation has also paid for illegal immigrants to fly back to their home countries and have even offered financial support to those legitimately out of work.

Those looking for more information can visit the Temporary Foreign Workers Association website.
