The present report, submitted in accordance with General Assembly resolution
62/156, contains a summary of communications received from Governments in
response to a note verbale sent on 4 July 2008 by the Office of the United Nations
High Commissioner for Human Rights on behalf of the Secretary-General requesting
information on the implementation of the resolution. The report also contains a
summary of communications received from Governments in response to a note
verbale sent on 28 June 2007 by the Office of the High Commissioner on behalf of
the Secretary-General requesting information on the implementation of resolution
61/165. Owing to the late submission of information by some Member States, their
responses were not included in the previous report (A/62/299). The Secretary-
General also reports on the status of the International Convention on the Protection
of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families, the activities
of the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants and the Committee on the
Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
