In recent years the migrant experience has increasingly been defined by precarity. Temporary migrants often experience precariousness due to their terms of stay in Canada, and few routes are available for them to seek permanent residence. Even when migrants acquire permanent residence or citizenship, they continue to face precarious social and economic situations. This panel discussion will examine different stages of migrant precarity with an emphasis on temporary foreign workers, live-in caregivers, and international students.
