Dear Friends,
PINAY is a non-profit Filipino women’s organization that works to empower and organize Filipino women in Quebec. It was founded in 1991 by a social worker, and today, most of its 250 members are migrant workers under the Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP). PINAY brings together domestic workers and their supporters in various programs and campaigns for the rights and welfare of Filipino migrant workers in Quebec and Canada.
This year, PINAY is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a banquet fundraiser. We would like to formally invite you to join us in highlighting our 20 years of advocacy and activism. The banquet begins at 6:00 pm on Saturday, 10 March 2012, at the Ruby Rouge Restaurant in Montréal’s Chinatown. The evening will feature a nine-course meal and cultural entertainment.
You can show your support by purchasing a banquet ticket at $75 a plate. With this purchase, your name will appear in the special souvenir program, which we will distribute to banquet guests and to the broader Filipino community. You can also purchase a banquet table for 10 persons at $600. If you purchase a table, during the banquet a special mention of your support will be made.
In case you cannot attend the banquet, you can make a charitable donation to our co-organiser, the Institute for Research and Education on Race Relations (IRERR).
We hope to see you at the anniversary banquet. Your support will help PINAY fulfill its mandate and continue its work. To purchase tickets or a table, make a charitable donation or obtain more information, please contact us at 514-364-9833 or by email at pinaycan@yahoo.com.
