NO RIGHTS, NO RULES: MIGRANT WORKERS IN A GLOBALIZED WORLD
&
“I AM A FATHER TOO!” EVENT – FORMING THE LARGEST MIGRANT WORKER HUMAN BILLBOARD IN CANADIAN HISTORY

NEW EVENT!!!

THE GREAT ROOM, UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO - JUNE 20, 2010

NEW ROOM LOCATION!!!

UFCW Canada and community allies will be hosting an International Migrant Worker Forum on June 20, 2010 in response to the G8/G20 Summit to be held in and around Toronto, Canada.

Migrant workers, community activists, advocates, and labour leaders from a variety of countries will explore a diverse set of issues faced by migrant workers when in Canada. They will also critically analyze the role of sending nations and the state of migrant workers while in their home country in the increasingly complex and brutal international migrant workers regime. Finally, there will be a frank discussion of the steps forward.

Prior to NO RIGHTS, NO RULES join over 100 migrant workers with pictures of their children left in sending countries at 11:45 am on the steps of Hart House, University of Toronto at

“I AM A FATHER TOO!” to FORM THE LARGEST MIGRANT WORKER HUMAN BILLBOARD IN CANADIAN HISTORY.

This event shall highlight the devastating effects of family separation and human displacement that has resulted from the migrant and guest worker programs, such as the Canadian Temporary Foreign Workers Program (TFWP), in G8 countries.

JOIN US on this day, Fathers’ Day, with migrant workers from across the Globe to map out the step forwards to work with those fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, who leave their homes only to be disappointed, neglected and abused through the Canadian Temporary Foreign Workers Program. This event shall reinforce our shared commitment towards migrant and immigrant worker dignity, respect and justice in Canada.
