- Abstract
From 1813 - 1833 Stephen, Jr. spent as much time as he could endure working for the protection of slaves in British colonial law and, ultimately, for the abolition of slavery throughout the British Empire. This article shows the way in which he tried to get better legal protection for the slaves in the West Indies.
