 This article is about overview of socio-economic context of overseas migration, general trends in migration, concerns and needs of women migrant workers. It analyzes the legislative framework relating to migration protection. It also examines the government migration policies and programmes. Finally, the paper also discusses about private and government initiatives protecting the welfare of migrant workers and their families.
