During the last decade in particular, Stan Raper (1961-2017) has been for us both a smile and a constant source of inspiration guiding our actions to facilitate the recognition and respect of migrant workers' right to fundamental liberty and their right to mental and physical health and safety.
In this context, MigrantWorkersRights - Canada is proud to launch today the Annual Stan Raper Award Program. Through this program, MigrantWorkersRights-Canada will award $1000 every year to individual(s) or organizations that submit at coordination_canada@migrantworkersrights.net by June 18th their fieldwork report on the rights violations experienced by migrant agricultural workers in Canada. Further details will soon be uploaded under the "Get involved" section of MRW-Canada's website.
With this program, we hope to honour, at least in a small way, Stan's absolutely heroic legacy.
