A Leduc man with an immigration business in Edmonton is facing charges following a two-year investigation by the Canada Border Services Agency.

Paul Gestano McKenney is charged with 11 counts under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and one count under the Criminal Code.

Canada Border Services accuses McKenney of submitting documents with forged signatures in order to bring temporary foreign workers to Canada.

As a result, three foreign nationals arrived in Canada in 2009 with employment contracts. The agency began investigating in October 2009 after receiving a complaint saying that a signature of a dead person had been forged.

Investigators searched McKenney's business June 1, 2010 and seized electronic documents.

McKenny will appear in Edmonton court July 19.
