Founded in 2008, Vancouver, BC, Canada.
In the first weeks of June 2008, a working collective of seven people organized the Canada-Philippines Solidarity for Human Rights (also known as (CPS-HR).
The origins of this solidarity formation came from the people who organized the Vancouver Committee to Support the Philippine Parliamentarians Tour, an ad hoc committee set up in April 2008 to host the visiting progressive Filipino lawmakers ...Satur Ocampo, Luz Ilagan and Crispin “Ka Bel” Beltran and to organize community forums for their first stop in Canada.
The Solidarity Group, in one of its first official acts, sent a three-person delegation to represent the new solidarity formation at the Founding Assembly of the International Migrants Alliance (IMA) and the Third International Assembly of the International League of People’s Struggle (ILPS) in Hong Kong, China in June 2008
